I think as a woman artist I have this particular drive to represent traditionally “masculine” feelings like dominance, powerfulness, in my art - sensations that I feel women can shy away from, or that we’re generally discouraged from displaying.

In creating ‘Power Stance’ I envisioned myself standing, sliding one foot across the ground away from the other, finding power and courage in my body; feeling strong, steady. Maybe my arms are crossed, footy-player-photoshoot style - ready to powerfully tackle whatever is thrown at me.

I hope you can feel that power, no matter who you are, no matter what you need it for.
